Measure P
Dear Citizens of the Town of Apple Valley,
We wish to address the recent discussions concerning Measure P, a proposed general use tax in our town. We feel there needs to be some clarification about Measure P and its impact on public safety services.
As a general tax, Measure P is not earmarked for any specific service, including public safety. The funds generated from this tax can be utilized for various purposes deemed necessary by the town, such as road repairs and enhancements to law enforcement services. It is important to note that a general use tax does not guarantee increased funding for law enforcement and has no impact on the Apple Valley Fire Protection District.
The Town of Apple Valley and the Apple Valley Fire Protection District are two different entities governed by separate boards and funded through different sources.
The Apple Valley Professional Firefighters Association wants to clarify that we are currently neutral regarding Measure P. Our primary goal is to ensure that the public is fully informed about the measure’s implications. We encourage all residents to review the details of Measure P and understand how the funds, if approved, will be allocated by the town.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
The Apple Valley Professional Firefighters
